John Sandford The Kidd Novels 14 edition by John Sandford Literature Fiction eBooks
Having read all of John Sandford's (John Roswell Camp) novels with the exception of the Kidd novels, I took advantage of the Kindle four-novel bundle. It is a bargain. As one who has lived through the arrival of the computer age, I recommend these novels as an interesting history of computer science through the eyes of a master criminal. Kidd takes you from the early days of Macs and Apples up to the current powerful smart phones all the while entertaining you with the spirited and cultured dialog characteristic of the Davenport/Flowers novels. Highly recommended for fans of detective stories.Product details

Pretty good
Wonderful John Sandford series and I am now struggling to find reading material until Sandford has another new release!
Carolyn
The Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport books are better than these Kidd books. But the Kidd books are very readable also.
Kidd is a hero, but he is also a thief, so he loses some appeal. It looks like the series of Kidd books have stopped after these four books were published.
These computer geek stories are good but dated (very) as technology has gone far beyond the scope of these novels. Virgil Flowers is much funnier, the plots and twists are better. Since I loved the Flowers novels so much I tried these and was somewhat disappointed, but I still read all 4 - so they can't be that bad, right?
I first read all of the Lucas Davenport "Prey" books where I was introduced to Kidd. The character intrigued me so I bought the 4 Kidd novels. It gave me the background I needed to explain his appearance in the "Prey" book as well as providing me with a good, if dated, read. If you are fond of anti-heroes with ideals and few scruples, these are the books for you!
5+ Stars Fascinating series. John Sandford is a must buy, must read author. His Kidd novels are interesting, informative and humorous.
Having the series in a sequential ebook bundle is great. No worries about storage or the books wearing out.
I will re-read this series and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, new works by this author.
I recently discovered that John Sanford had writen four novels with a different hero than Lucas Davenport-- Joe Kidd -- I imediately ordered the four book set and happily dug in. I enjoyed the characters and the plots (some precursors to Davenport - the computer genuis) and the dogged investigation were entertaining. The four books progressed to a logical conclusion that left me satisfied and wishing for more.
